Still running around after a toddler with sleep issues, so I haven’t had time to blog. I wanted to wish everyone a happy new year, however and share a quick anecdote.
David and I were able to go out to dinner and a movie last night (New Year’s Eve) with my parents watching Susana. We sat down to eat and ordered drinks and the waiter asked for our ID. Apparently now in the U.S., they card anyone who looks younger than 60, just in case.

We’re here — back in the States. Still up at night and sleepy during the day, but wanted to post and wish everyone in Korea and abroad Happy Holidays!
I’ll post more about what we’re doing and what’s to come, as well as some reviews of our last days in Seoul (hits and misses).
For now, wishing everyone peaceful, happy, and safe holidays!

I think I’m still in denial about this one.
Basically, 댁배 is an express courier service. They are who you call when you need to send something, pretty much anything that can be carried by one person in a truck (maybe two people in a truck), somewhere else, quickly. Need to get a package or important documents across town by noon? No problem. Getting that kimchi fridge you bought on sale at E-Mart back home? No problem.
OK, but there’s more. All the internet shopping you do? The special of fish or fruit that you bought on Auction or CJMall? The new shoes or sweater or bulk order of baby wipes you got on GMarket? That’s how they all get to you. Daek Bae. Quick. Delivery.
Need I say more?
