I went shopping for a new toy this weekend when I should have been buried in taxes and wedding planning. In a way this could be considered wedding planning . . . if you count buying really neat things I want to take on the honeymoon but didn’t already own as wedding planning.
I’ve had an older model Kodak 3MP camera (my first digital) for a few years now and have been wanting something with better image quality.Saturday, I went ahead and purchased this camera and am already thrilled with the results.
An unexpected bonus: the video recording with audio feature. I am sure it’s not comparable with a proper digital video camera, but for me the images are great. There doesn’t seem to be a limit to the recording time, as long as you have sufficent memory to store the images. (I upgrated to a 1 gig SD card.)
All of this is just a very long-winded intro to what I really want to post, which is this.
My first attempt at video blogging. Of course, it’s a movie starring the cats. Well, one lead cat and one cat in a brief, cameo appearance. Our cat, Obi, likes to fetch a small, stuffed animal head (the head off a small ornament-sized teddy bear). It’s kind of creepy since it it is really the only thing he’ll fetch. He does go and get it and bring it back to you, though, so it usually requires minimal effort on our part.
It’s also rather entertaining because he’s also developed a pretty complex set of rules for how his game is played. As you can see on the video, if he is able to swat down the head before it passes him, then the head is out of play and you have to go pick it up and try again. If you get it past him, then he’s off and running. My voice is hoarse because I had just gotten out of bed on Sunday and was halfway through my first cup of coffee. So, ignore that (and my goofy, ‘talking-to-the-cat’ voice. How long have I been doing that? It’s really annoying . .. ) You might want to listen with the sound down.
And, in case anyone is wondering, this is also why I was late to the Easter service. When it comes to procrastination, I am a master.
